Specific Purpose  : To persuade my audience about the three reasons that you should kayak.

  

Central Idea       : You should make kayaking as a healthy lifestyle because its’ three benefits can help you lose your weight, good for your health and it offers great opportunities for socialization.

Main Points:         I.       The first reason that you should kayak because it can help you lose your weight.

II.      The second reason that you should kayak because it is good for your health.

III.     The third reason that you should kayak because it offers great opportunities for socialization.

OUTLINE TO PERSUADE

INTRODUCTION

          I.                   A kayak is an enclosed boat that is propelled by using a double-sided paddle.

A.   You sit inside the kayak with your legs straight in front of you and use your upper body to move the kayak through the water.

          II.                Kayaking can be peaceful depending on where and how you do it.

          III.             You should make kayaking as a healthy lifestyle because its’ three benefits.

A.   It can help you lose your weight, good for your health and it offers great opportunities for socialization.

TRANSITION: Let’s move to the first reason that why you should kayak.

BODY

         I.                   The first reason that you should kayak because of it can help you lose your weight.

A.   Which is going to use up about 400 calories per hour? 

1.     Kayaking can burn up to 400 calories per hour or more depending on how fast you paddle.

B.   It is a continual process of burning calories that help you to lose your weight.

1.     Hey, you are going to look good!

TRANSITION: Now that all of you know something about my first reason, let’s look about my second reason.

          II.                The second reason that you should kayak because of it is good for your health.

A.   Kayaking for exercise can benefit your cardiovascular health.

1.     The continuous movement of paddling can help our cardiovascular as swimming or jogging.

2.     It was proved by a study at Manchester Metropolitan University. The study proved that kayaking can increase more than 50 per cent the ability of the heart to pump the blood around the body.

B.   Kayaking may help in the reduction of stress levels by giving you an opportunity to get outdoors, experience nature and breathe fresh air.

1.     Spending a few hours under the sky, on the water, watching the colours of the blues and the greens is enjoyable that relief our stress and improve our mental state.

TRANSITION: Let’s look and see to my third reason.

         III.             The third reason that you should kayak because it offers great opportunities for socialization in a relaxed atmosphere.

A.   Kayaking can be a great activity with our family and friends.

B.   Especially if you are in a tandem kayak together it allows everyone to work together for a common goal and enjoy all of the benefits of kayaking together.

INTERNAL SUMMARISE: I have discussed with all of you about three reasons that you should kayak.

CONCLUSION

I.                   Last but not least, it's not only an amazing exercise, but you really are directly in touch with nature.

A.   Kayaking gives you both an incredible peace of mind and sense of balance and ability.

          II.                You should make kayaking as a healthy lifestyle because it can help you lose your weight, good for your health and it offers great opportunities for socialization.

Specific Purpose:    To inform my audience about the three major elements of Itthad Tullab Lughah Arabiah (ITLA’).

Central Idea:          The three major elements of Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah (ITLA’) are its history, its logo and its programs.

Main Points:            I.          The first major element of Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah (ITLA’) is its history.

                            II.        The second major element of Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah (ITLA’) is its logo.

                                III.       The third major element of Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah (ITLA’) is its programs.

OUTLINE SPEECH TO INFORM

INTRODUCTION

I.       Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah is from Arabic words which mean Arabic Language Association.

A.    In Malay we called it, Persatuan Kulliyyah Bahasa Arab INSANIAH.

B.     The acronym of Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah is ITLA’.

II.    Many students take advantage of the opportunity to learn Arabic because Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah has provided many activities to improve Arabic Language.

III. There are three major elements of Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah that we can describe.

A.    The three major elements of Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah are its history, its logo and its programs.

TRANSITION: Let we start our view into my first point.

BODY

I.       The first major element of Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah (ITLA’) is its history.

            A.    Arabic Language Association of INSANIAH founded in 2009.

1.      The discussion between the former Dean of Arabic department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Bakhir bin Haji Abdullah (AMK) with all Fourth Year students, Kulliyyah of Arabic to set it up an association.

2.      In Malay, we called it as Persatuan Kulliyyah Bahasa Arab (PERKASA).

3.      They agreed to appoint members of committee lead by the first President of PERKASA session 2009/2010, Mr. Muhyiddin bin Ishak.

             B.     The second President of PERKASA session 2010/2011, Mr. Syafiq bin Ishak.

1.      He continued the work with trust that has been borne out by the former President of PERKASA.

             C.     In session 2011/2012, Arabic Language Association makes rebranding to new name.

1.      After discussion with the Dean of Arabic Department, Dr. Usama El Sayed Mohamed and Deputy Dean of Arabic Department, Sheikh Ali Mohamed Isa that agreed with all of new committee member of PERKASA session 2011/2012 to change to the new name as Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah.

2.      The name was suggested by Mr. Mohammad Naim bin Ismail.

3.      Now in session 2011/2012, Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah is leading by Khalidul Anuar bin Yusoh as the new President of ITLA’.

TRANSITION: Now that you all know something about my first point of ITLA’. Let we move to my second point.

II.    The second major element of Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah (ITLA’) is its logo.

              A.    Colour of ITLA’ logo.

1.      Purple

a.       It symbolizes of power, ability, truth and trust.

2.      Yellow

a.       It symbolizes of wisdom, skill and intelligence.

3.      Green

a.       It symbolizes of highest hopes, aspirations and ambitions.

             B.     Designers of ITLA’ logo.

1        Anas bin Ahmad Shukri.

2        Mohd Yasier bin Mohd Zahir

3        Shahrul Fazli bin Uthman.

TRANSITION: Let we look and see to my third point.

III. The third major element of Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah (ITLA’) is its programs or activities.

               A.    In Campus

1.      Ifthar Program.

2.      Aidilfitri Celebration Program.

3.      Arabic Week Program.

4.      Syarah Ibn ‘Aqil Class.

a.       This class is started in this semester, every Sunday until Thursday at 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.

               B.     Out Campus

1.      “Mukhayyam Arabic” (Arabic Camping)

a.       It has organized Arabic Camping at Langkawi and Lumut.

i.        In Langkawi on semester one, session 2010/2011.

ii.      In Lumut on 3^rd February 2012 to 6^th February 2012.

2.      “Jaulah Arabiah” (Arabic Journey) to Egypt.

a.       It has organized Arabic Journey on semester two, session 2009/2010.

INTERNAL SUMMARISE: Now, I have discussed with you all about three major elements to describe Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah in our mind clearly.

CONCLUSION

I.       Last but not least, Ittihad Tullab Lughah Arabiah plays an important role in shaping students’ personal skills and brings our University’s name to the world level.

             A.    It wants to provide opportunities for volunteers among INSANIAH students to develop activities that make the University College in “Biah ‘Arabiah”.

          B.   It helps to produce INSANIAH students are fluent form and “faqih” in Arabic in order to become scholars and professionals after graduation.

          C. It also helps to produce INSANIAH graduates capable to interpret and deepen the knowledge of religion in “Thurath” (Old Book) mostly in Arabic books.
